AUTOPAC

What is Autopac?

Autopac is Manitoba’s mandatory auto insurance, provided by MPI since 1971. Every vehicle registered in Manitoba must carry this coverage before it can be driven on public roads.

What’s included in Basic Autopac?

  • $70,000 Maximum Insured Value (MIV) for your vehicle (including taxes)

  • $750 Deductible on all claims (effective April 1, 2021)

  • $500,000 Third-Party Liability coverage

  • Personal Injury Protection Plan (PIPP) for injury or death caused by a vehicle accident

  • All-Perils Coverage, which protects you from:

    • Collision or upset (rollovers, accidents with fixed or moving objects)

    • Vandalism, theft, hail, or fire

Private Auto Extension

Better drivers deserve better coverage. We offer special discounts based on your driving experience. Save between $40 and $150, depending on the type of car you own. Our private auto extension:

  • Allows you to choose between a $200 and $100 deductible
  • Offers liability protection of $1 million, $2 million or $5 million
  • Provides free annual rental car insurance
  • Gives you the option of buying bonus coverage for vandalism and hail
  • Provides Family Protection Coverage, which allows you to sue for up to $2 million in coverage if you’re injured in an accident caused by an uninsured or under-insured / driver while driving outside your coverage area.

PIPP Benefits

Income Replacement Coverage

PIPP benefits only insure for incomes of around $90,000 or less. If you have a higher income, you can enhance your PIPP benefits to cover your full income in case of loss.
